Amm has designed a locking lifter engineered and rated for all 25mm square drive locking chuck drill pots commonly used in underground coal mining.
These are now a must have safety item for lifting drill pots. They are now written in as a safety requirement for component change out at the initial trial site. Which it has now become a free issue stock item and placed in standard tool kit for tradesmen.
The tool requires locking by an isolation lock or bolt depending on site requirements, this ensures that even with large amount of twist in the lifting equipment the tool will not lose positive engagement. Furthermore by design, as a chuck wears out the amount of engagement can only increase nullifying any extra risk.
Overhaul workshops have now purchased units to assist trades in moving Gophers in and out of stores and stands. As well as a fit for purpose tool during repairs and stripping of rigs.
